Minishifts News 2015
Minishifts News 2015
It’s been 2 years since our last newsletter. This is because we, like you, aren’t in the business of newsletters every month. We would rather get on with the job. However, news does gather and occur and we thought this would be a good time to make mention of a few items of interest.
The last 2 years has seen some changes in our fleet.
Gone are the Mitsubishi 6x4 rigid transporter and the Volvo 4x2 tractor unit, these have been replaced with a Mitsubishi 8x4 rigid transporter and a Mitsubishi Shogun 6x4 tractor unit, we also have a Kenworth 6x4 tractor unit towing a 3 rows of 8 widening trailer.
We have also had a change within our office staff, Theresa Pastor our office administrator left in December 2014 to seek a change of scenery as she had been with us for over 10 years. In her place we now have Joanne Allen who is able to assist with any account queries from now on (Her email is email@example.com).
We have also had a change in resources and services. We have employed a diesel mechanic to repair/service our fleet of trucks and trailers. He has some free time so we are able to offer his services to you at very reasonable rates. If your vehicles need servicing/mechanical repairs or brake realigns please contact us through the despatch office. We can also offer a pre COF check and advise cost of any repairs required.
As some of you may know, Ben Speir our despatcher, started out life as a fitter & turner. We recently had an opportunity to purchase a machine shop in its entirety as the owner was retiring. We now have a lathe, a milling machine and the associated tooling to carry out our own repairs in our workshop. We also have available time on this equipment and are able to offer this service to our customers. If you have a need for any machining work don’t hesitate to contact us for a quality job at a quality price.
Over the last two years we have seen an increase in the price of parts for repairs and maintenance. Parts seem to increase in price on a never ending basis. We note that there has been a recent reduction in fuel prices and we are soon to see a reduction in ACC charges, although an increase in RUC charges .We have to a large extent kept our costs and prices stable for the last two years except for the price of spare parts. However we now have to make a very small increase in prices which will come into effect from 1st June 2015. Please see our new schedule as below.
So that’s our news and if you are passing and want to have a look at the lathe and other equipment feel free to stop by.
